GROUNDSKEEPER WF

Job Overview:

Performs a variety ground maintenance activities such as planting,watering and trimming flowers and shrubs, mowing lawns, applyingpesticides, and shoveling snow.

Maintains grounds and cares for plants, lawns and trees. Operates power equipment to maintain facilities.

Plants and cares for ornamental plants, trees, flowers and lawns. Applies fertilizers, herbicides and pesicides. Waters plants when required. Prunes trees and bushes and removes dead flowers and plants.

Performs pm on power equipment. Checks fluids levels and belts. Clean all equipment after use.

Performs related duties as required (e.g. assisting with floods and snow emergencies). Ability to follow & understand weather forecast & MUST be available for snow / any storms. Lead in time of snow removal and organize materials and equipment as per departmental needs.

Performs inventories of supplies and informs supervisor of shortages.

Operate vehicles as required for various duties.

Requirements:

• MinimumHigh School Diploma/GED.
• One-twoyears' grounds keeping experience with some botanical background.
• Must have a valid driver license, meeting Montefiore's Dept of Transportation standards.
• Knowledge and skill in the care of plants and horticultural techniques.
• Knowledge and skill to maintain all equipment.
