The Railcar Operations Administrator is responsible for providing technical and administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the repair services business. This position is responsible for project scope details, pricing and in ensuring the smooth operation of systems and processes and providing administrative support.

Job Duties

  • Develop, manage and forecast budgets for the relevant cost center projects and proposals
  • Effectively delegate operational responsibilities to appropriate individuals / positions.
  • Complete customer, carrier and supplier requests with a sense of urgency.
  • Ensure operational support in the areas of service, inventory, and pricing
  • Maintain regular communication with sales and operations to report in-process project status
  • Optimizing operational processes and procedures for maximum efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assisting with the implementation of new processes and procedures.
  • Identifying ways to improve customer experience.
  • Interacting with customers and suppliers, answering questions, and resolving issues.
  • Tracking and reporting on operational performance.
  • Maintaining policy and procedure documents.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Research & coordinate with Plants/Operations, ensuring necessary documentation is sent to shops, so cars are processed as quickly as possible through the shop.
  • Coordinate Car Flow requests from internal customers (FMS personnel) with plants for shop disposition to be provided for our fleet in a timely manner.
  • Review/Approve AITX Master Data/SharePoint requests involving customers quickly & efficiently.
  • Provide Back-Up Support for Operations Specialist with ARMS Master Data Updates as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or requisite experience
  • 5+ years of experience as an administrator or customer support professional
  • Project management and leadership experience.
  • Ability to analyze and improve operational processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented
