Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.



Responsibilities

**This is a pipeline requisition designed to collect resumes for potential upcoming work at AMERICAN SYSTEMS and does not represent a current opening. Qualified candidates will be contacted when an opening/funding becomes available**

As a Lead Systems Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:

    Lead a team of talented, and experienced IT Engineers on new and ongoing IT projects
  • Engage in hands-on technical work alongside the engineering team
  • Perform direct technical troubleshooting and problem resolution in IT systems and infrastructure
  • Coordinate with Information Assurance, Service Desk, and Software Development teams to ensure continuous operations
  • Ensure continuous integration and deployment of software updates
  • Oversee day-to-day operations supporting the customer's acquisition support mission
  • Manage personnel development and complete performance appraisals of AMERICAN SYSTEMS employees


Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM degree
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT II level certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)
  • More than 10 years of technical experience supporting IT operations (IT systems, IT networks, and software development)
  • More than 5 years of technical experience supporting Information Assurance/Cybersecurity
  • Management/Leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with senior level customers
  • Strong working knowledge of virtual computing including VMware and Cloud computing
  • Strong understanding of computer networking, perimeter protection, and information security

Technical understanding of the following:

  • VMware infrastructure
  • Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) such as Citrix
  • Networking
  • Storage systems
  • Cloud technologies

Note: This position requires candidate to either have an active polygraph or successfully pass a polygraph for employment.
