Hillenbrand is actively seeking a Trade Control Manager to join our Global Trade Compliance team in a remote position. As the Trade Control Manager for Export Controls & Sanctions, you will have a strong background in global export control and sanctions laws and regulations to ensure compliance across our international and US operations. As the Trade Control Manager for Export Controls & Sanctions, you will be responsible for collaborating and cooperating with colleagues to develop and implement the global program for export controls and sanctions compliance, in alignment to applicable laws and regulations globally. The primary focus will be on export controls and sanctions. This role will report directly to the Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer & Global Trade Controls. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all export control and sanctions policies, including leadership engagement, risk assessment, identification of control improvements, working with operating company teams to design and implement effective controls, training on controls and key concepts, design and review of testing and monitoring, work with trade controls center of excellence to execute and report on control effectiveness, identify and follow up on control opportunity remediation, and reporting as required.
Manage key risks, including but not limited to, transshipment risks, controlled technology risks, and classification risks. This includes oversight of our end user form process and transactional reviews as required.
Partner with operating company resources, operating trade controls teams, IT staff and other stakeholders to refine and prioritize the development and deployment of processes for vetting and item classification.
Serve as a subject matter expert for all export and sanctions vetting activities, policies, procedures, training, and investigations. This will include resolving escalated true matches from our sanctions screening tools.
Spearhead IT updates and requirements to ensure compliance tools are effective and updated. Where appropriate and justified, lead implementation of tools with key stakeholders. Collaborate with global colleagues to deliver training and a comprehensive trade compliance guidance to organizational stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, supply chain, operations, engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 - 7 years relevant work experience, demonstrated experience in export controls and sanctions compliance, and proven experience or depth of experience in trade compliance. Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work cross functionally with teams, and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to travel, as necessary
