The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.

The Team:The Maintenance Mechanic is part of the Mattel Fort Worth Distribution Center team.

The Opportunity:

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles with the ability to diagnose and repair complex machinery
  • Experience performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Ability to identify mechanical issues, troubleshoot faults, and complete necessary repairs
  • Proficiency in replacing worn or defective parts to restore equipment functionality
  • Knowledge of inventory management, including tracking and ordering spare parts
  • Commitment to following all safety regulations and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to coordinate with operations staff to minimize downtime and resolve equipment issues efficiently
  • Experience with general building maintenance, including lighting, plumbing, and grounds upkeep
  • Ability to assign tasks, monitor work quality, and ensure compliance with company standards and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure work is completed accurately and neatly
  • Ability to guide and advise team members on proper use and care of tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Effective communication skills to report progress on work orders and escalate unresolved issues to leadership

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, or a related field
  • Experience working in a distribution center, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems
  • Experience handling or working with chemicals or industrial compounds
  • Requires working knowledge of power tools and maintenance equipment
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and maintenance tracking systems (CMMS experience a plus)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Physical ability to lift, climb, stand for extended periods, and perform hands-on repair work

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and follow instructions as provided by management. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees and customer contacts. Effectively communicate progress to management.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in a standardized environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current Driver's License, current forklift certification

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts while working around forklifts, clamp trucks, other maintenance equipment, fumes or airborne particles generated by propane forklifts, and outside weather conditions as the warehouse doors are generally open at all times of the year. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
