DLZ Corporation is seeking motivated individuals to join our growing team as Field Technicians for projects in Michigan! This is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills and work hard in a dynamic environment. DLZ will provide the necessary training for you to succeed in this role. What You'll Do:

Conduct material sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete, and concrete during placement on active construction sites. -
Interpret project specifications and working drawings. -
Perform field inspections, testing, and sampling. Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment on assigned projects. -
Accurately obtain and legibly record field data in an organized manner, as required by project plans, specifications, or staff. Generate and compile comprehensive field reports. -
Document daily installed construction quantities. -
Communicate effectively with all on-site team members, including contractors and owner representatives. -
Maintain open and timely communication with all relevant stakeholders. -
Ensure the proper maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment. -
Understand and strictly adhere to all public health and safety requirements and established safety procedures. -
Undertake other duties as needed to support the team.
What You'll Bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to convey accurate information clearly and concisely.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- A strong commitment to performing all work safely and responsibly, in accordance with DLZ's Health and Safety Plan.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of materials testing experience.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to pass an MVR check and drug testing (including marijuana).
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- ACI/MCA Concrete Level I Concrete Field Testing Technician certification.
- Nuclear Densometer Safety training.
- MDOT Density Control Certification.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points!):
- Ability to travel across Michigan and potentially throughout the tri-state area.
- 10-hour OSHA or MUST Safety certification.
- MCA Concrete Level II Advanced Concrete Technician certification.
- MDOT Aggregate Sampling Certification and/or Aggregate Inspection Certification Level I.
- MDOT HMA Sampling Certification.
- Experience with Floor Flatness testing.
