Accounting Manager

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Accounting Manager.

Job Purpose:

This candidate will be responsible for the entire Accounting functions including billing, cash application, aging's, collections and filing of liens when needed for a construction company. Liaison between accounting department and other departments to help facilitate problem solving and support as needed. Will work as a professional team member with management, customers, accountants, business associates, supervisors, co-workers and tradesmen. This position reports directly to the company Chief Operating Officer.

Job Duties:

• Process invoices and progress billings into the receivable system. Maintain cash sales receipt/register in an accurate and timely manner.
• Generate monthly billing, research of customer discrepancies, discuss any deviations from client payment plans, obtain appropriate approvals to have open credits applied, and, in general, keep the accountants receivable system as clean as possible.
• Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
• Contribute to developing cash forecasting and determining the receivable balance monthly and yearly reports and statistical sales information.
• Maintain accurate customer files; keep track of name changes, mergers, address changes, and mailing attentions for all divisions. Relay this information to the appropriate personnel.
• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
• Prepare and collect executed lien waivers from subcontractors.
• Ensure proper sales tax compliance and file monthly sales tax returns.
• Record ACH and direct deposit withdrawal transactions made from bank accounts, including payroll tax payments, fringe benefits, sales tax, etc.
• Set up jobs with proper cost codes and help to ensure accuracy of job cost reporting.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge with AIA construction billing is required.
• Sage 300C.R.E. experience is preferred.
• 10+ Accounting experience required
