Sr. Test Engineer II (Active Security Clearance) Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States

**This is a 12 month contract assignment**

  Raytheon Applied Signal Technology is a diversified intelligence and defense company that develops systems to provide integrated sensor and signal processing products in support of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

    Raytheon Applied Signal Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer committed and passionate about supporting our Airborne COMINT Prime Mission Equipment (PME) for our Special Programs organization. The Special Programs organization designs and develops SIGINT solutions to meet mission critical performance requirements. The individual will work with other experienced engineers from our Annapolis Junction, Maryland office.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting at component and system level
  • Conceiving and implementing changes to the test plans to ensure the systems are fully tested
  • Evaluating new hardware and software designs for any potential errors
  • Assisting in location problems to either hardware or software
  • Developing and writing test plans, as well as evaluating these plans to reduce test time and increase test coverage in order to verify the quality of the product is not compromised
  • Writing test scripts, keeping logs of board/system defects, and integrating new systems and software
  • Flexibility in shifting work priorities, as required
  • Providing  training to customers, engineers, and technicians, and providing mentoring, when necessary
  • Traveling to and providing field support, as required
  • Setting-up and running equipment demos, when necessary

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineer, Science, or Mathematics, or related study with 6+ years of experience
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics, or related study with 4+ years of experience
  • Doctorates' in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics, or related study with 2+ years of experience

Requirements:

  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities from component to system level
  • Experience with COMINT signal processing and related products required
  • Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and Microsoft Office
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols equipment with the ability to comprehend complex network infrastructure diagrams to solve complex problems
  • Detailed knowledge of networking, file systems, security, and virtualization
  • Strong system/networking debugging skills
  • Ability to work independently and determine priorities
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Flexible and adaptable in order to respond to mission-critical needs as they arise
  • Familiarity with concepts in hardware, software, and firmware design, as well as high-performance, embedded computing
  • Understanding of embedded SW, GUI interfaces and structures, DSP methodologies, and digital architectures
  • Working concept of basic RF principles
  • Ability to travel off-site (ground travel by automobile) to system-level field testing in a highly-dynamic scheduling environment with the flexibility to work multiple shifts and some weekends
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess Active Top Secret Security Clearance
